Himalaya Expeditions Inc (HimEX) offers a grand panoramic trek to Rupina-La at 4,720m that is rarely surmounted by other trekking companies or westerners. This is one of the most challenging, adventurous and grueling trekking routes situated in the lower Manaslu region of the Gorkha district which was officially opened for trekkers in 1991. Rupina-La routes lead to the geographically spectacular and unbeaten trail of the Manaslu region. This trekking region takes a round trip of the mountain ranges of Manaslu- the world’s 8th highest peak at 8,163m (26,781ft); Peak 29 (7871m) Himal-Chuli 7,893m and Boudha 6,672m. By covering many villages mainly inhabited by Gurungs, the trekking region gives the trekkers an opportunity to be a part of amazing culture and tradition. The trail is very rich in rhododendron and pine forest and with exceptionally varied geographical terrain, it also offers breathtaking sceneries of Himalayas, rivers and waterfalls, beautiful landscapes, lush valleys and wide range of animals and birds. The adventurous journey to Rupina-la Pass begins from lower Gorkha following the Darundikhola. Upon traversing the Rupina-La at 4,520m, the trekking route descends through the Buri-Gandaki River further down to Arughat and ends again in Gorkha itself. The trek kicks off from the hidden path of Kanchok and Sulighat before reaching the highest point of this adventure at the top ridge of Rupinna-la, then reaching to the midpoint of Tsum and upper Manaslu area at Lokpa region and completing this wonderful memorable adventure at Arughat Bazaar which is an old market near the bank of the river Budhi Gandaki.
