Since 1953, the descriptions and photographs of great successful expeditions / adventures to Mt. Everest have been circulating all around the globe. Many people have been fascinated by the thought of walking to the base of the world’s highest mountain – Therefore, this is considered an outstanding trek visiting the high lush valleys of the Khumbu region with time to explore villages and monasteries and to sample the warm hospitality of the Sherpa people. 

Adventure begins with a sweeping flight to Lukla, a popular destination, which provides a fascinating contrast to the high mountain landscapes followed by walking slowly to Phakding on first day and then a night spot. The next day will include a trek ahead to the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar, with time to acclimatize before following the quiet trail to Thyangboche with incredible view of Mt. Khangtiaga, Mt. Thamserku and the Nuptse - Lhotse wall and Mt. Everest rearing above. This amazing trip is followed by a thrilling experience of rafting in the currents of Trisuli River. This adventure concludes with fun jungle activities and elephant safari at the Chitwan National Park. 

Itinerary

  • Day 1
    Arrive at Kathmandu 1,300m via respective airlines.

    On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuwan International Airport you will be received by our staff and transfer you to the Hotel, where our guide will give you a brief orientation of the Hotel, Kathmandu, Trekking, do's and don'ts and other related information that you might require while in Nepal.

  • Day 2
    A day in Kathmandu with half day sight seeing tour.

    After your first night in Kathmandu, you will be well informed on arrival about the time for your half day guided sightseeing tour in Kathmandu at places of interest. Sometime, depending upon your flight arrival if it's late in the night we will do this tour in the afternoon instead of morning to give you a nice rest before you venture out of the Hotel in our interesting tour.

  • Day 3
    Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla & trek to Phakding. Approx: 45 minutes flight to Lukla 2,800m 9-10km (2 ½ -3hrs walk) to Phakding at 2,652m.

    Early morning you will be transferred from the Hotel to domestic Airport a short drive of 20-30 minutes, after the necessary security formalities board in the smaller twin otter or similar plane for the sweeping panoramic flight to Lukla. On arrival you will be received by our trekking guides. In Lukla you will have time to wander around, while the Sherpa crew sort and divide the load, lunch depending upon the time of arrival at Lukla either in Lukla or few walks further down on route to Phakding.
    The walk is gradual most of the way, with few ups with view of Kusum-Kangru 6,369m crossing a short suspension bridge, a short climb brings to the Ghat village, and another 1.5hrs of gradual walk brings you to Phakding village for the overnight stop near the bank of the Dudh-Kosi River.

  • Day 4
    Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440m approx. 5-6 hrs.

    From Phakding after crossing the suspension bridge over the Dudh-Kosi the walk is pleasant with few short uphill and downhill and re-crossing the same river again, with magnificent view of Thamserku 6,608m, then reaching a small village of Monjo after the last 20 minutes climb from the stream. After Monjo, comes to the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park, from here a short descend with a gradual walk to the Jorsalle village is reached, the last village and the only place to shop till Namche Bazaar is reached, a second bridge is reached over the same river, the walk is pleasant on the river bed till the last bridge over the Imjatse river is reached. From here the walk is along the winding uphill path all the way to Namche Bazaar, with magnificent view of Kwangde peak, Kusum kangru Mt.Everest- Nuptse wall, Lhotse and the closer view of Taweche peak can be seen all the way up. Another 1-2 hour walk up brings to the famed Namche Bazaar; the colorful houses are situated in an amphitheatre U shaped bowl.

  • Day 5
    Rest Day at Namche Bazaar.

    Suggested activities a short walk uphill to the Sagarmatha National Park Headquarter, a magnificent spot perched on top of Namche Bazaar with breathtaking view of the surrounding snow capped giants and the valleys way down, with an interesting museum with all kinds of information regarding the history of the Himalayas, geographic, culture, mountaineering history and existing information on flora and fauna of this region, afternoon at leisure

  • Day 6
    Trek to Thyangboche 3,867m. Approx 5 hours.

    The walk is fairly easy for the first half, after a 20 minutes climb to the top ridge of Namche Bazaar. Once at the top walk follows on the gradual trail with few short up and downs overlooking magnificent view of the great giant snow peaks from Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thermasharkhu and Kwangde-ri peak after a pleasant walk of two to three hours coming at Phungitenga 3,250m, a small settlement with couple of teahouses and a small Nepalese Army barrack serving as park wardens in the midst of the alpine woods of mostly silver fir blue pines, rhododendron and some few magnolia and birch trees. Walk from here is strenuous for an hour or two on the winding trail through the shade of woods till Thyangboche Monastery or Ghompa, is reached for the overnight stop. This beautiful spot offers views of the majestic beautiful peak Ama Dablam with Everest looming above the Nuptse wall in the north with Mt. Lhotse and Lhotse Shar towards north east.

  • Day 7
    Trek to Khumjung 3,800m. Approx. 6 hrs.

    Retrace the journey back to Shanasha, from Shanasha where the trail from Khumjung, Gokyo and to Namche meets. From here our route follows away from the main busy path, the walk winds up all the way to Khumjung-Khunde Valley. Khumjung unlike Namche is a sleepy farm village with the only monastery where there's a scalp of a yeti.

  • Day 8
    Trek to Monjo 2,830m 4-5 hrs.

    An easy day downhill walk today, from Khumjung half an hour walk brings you to its sister village at Khunde, where you can visit the only hospital in the whole of Khumbu area, built by Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation. After a visit at the Khunde hospital the trail leads to the top ridge of Syangboche air strip. From this spot it's a big descend to the Dudh Koshi river bed, with an aerial view of Namche Bazaar is seen from this downhill slope walk, on reaching Namche Bazaar retrace the journey back all the way to Monjo for the overnight stop.

  • Day 9
    Trek to Lukla 5 hrs walk.

    Last day of this great trek will be one of the good walk to Lukla, you can walk at your own normal pace, leisurely and enjoying the lush green scenery around. Apart from few short uphill the only long climb will be just before Lukla which will take approximately 45 minutes from a place called Choplung or from the old big oak tree. On reaching Lukla, prepare for the last day great dinner and a party with the fellow Sherpa crew, porters and trekking members.

  • Day 10
    Fly Lukla-Kathmandu.

    The flight time to Kathmandu, are schedule for morning normally, because of the wind in the afternoon, sometime the flight time can be delayed due to bad weather and other reason. Depending upon the flight time make way to the terminal for security check, this scenic flight from Lukla takes about 35 minutes to Kathmandu, a panoramic view of the snow capped peaks can be seen from window of the plane. Arriving at Kathmandu domestic terminal, our staff will receive and escort you back to the Hotel.

  • Day 11
    Drive to Trisuli River and commence Rafting and drive to Chitwan.

    Morning after breakfast 3-4 hours drive reaches you for the next great adventure, rafting at Trisuli River. On reaching at the River Trisuli Rafting put in point you will be received by our Rafting Captain and will brief you on the safety measures regarding, River, rafting and about do' and don't, a picnic lunch will be served by the rafting staffs depending upon the time of your arrival, if it's too soon we will have on the beaches downstream.

    Once in the Raft you'll have helmets, life-jacket and paddle each, the float down stream takes you through many interesting, exciting rapids, and before the end of the trip Bijuli rapid will give you a big wash, and then back to the bank of the river at Kuringhat or further downstream depending where you started, after the thrilling fun, two hours drive leads further down on the flatland of southern Nepal, at the outskirt of the "Chitwan National Park". On arrival welcome by the senior naturalist or the manger for briefing on do's and don't, lodge rules and activities. A fixed set lunch of continental or semi-continental lunch is served at 1 pm in the main dining hut, after lunch at leisure for few hours activities as per the Lodge set program for different groups. Afternoon Jungle activities are elephant briefing & bathing (depending upon the depth and size of the river at different seasons) Nature or Introductory walk. Elephant Safari, jungle walk includes visit to the tower (Machan) visit.

    After the afternoon jungle activities of 2-3 hours an evening program slide show on Chitwan National Park and its history, flora and wildlife. Cultural Tharu Stick Dance.  Dinner is served at 8 pm. The dinner will be served Nepali dishes or Chinese-Indian dishes.

  • Day 12
    Full day Jungle Activities.

    Early morning a knock at the door for your early Jungle activities, the morning program will be according to group wise either Bird watch tour, Elephant Safari or a Jungle walk. After the morning program of 1 1/2 to 2 hours back to the lodge for few hours of leisure before the next program as above in Day 12 till evening time.

  • Day 13
    Drive back to Kathmandu 180 km 5 hrs journey.

    Early morning wake up call with a knock at the door for different activities as in Day 13. After breakfast, prepare for the scenic drive back to Kathmandu.

  • Day 14
    Transfer to Airport for International departure.

    Today as per your international flight time, keep your confirmed air ticket, and your passport handy. Our staff will take you to the airport for your final departure from this amazing country, Nepal.

1. International flights to / from Kathmandu.

3. Lunch and dinner while in Kathmandu Hotel.

4. Travel, Medical and Personal insurance.

5. Rescue evacuation in case of emergency.

6. Personal clothing and personal trekking gear including sleeping bag & down jacket.

7. Expenses of personal nature, i.e. tipping, laundry, bottled drinks, bar bills etc.

8. Any expense for early returning member due sickness, injury or any other reason. No refund will be entertained for any unused service.

9. Extra expense occurred due to unexpected circumstances like cancellation of internal flights, floods, strike etc.
